Sanders: His campaign bodes well for future

As Bernie Sanders’s campaign is suspended following Joe Biden taking a 300-delegate lead, I have started to analyze what it showed us and what it means for the next Democratic Socialist candidate.

As radical as he was, Sanders drew huge support, especially from younger age groups. He had an impressive lead following the first few Democratic primaries. This was lost once the more centrist Democrats consolidated.

Being that Elizabeth Warren was another far-left candidate, I believe their bases combined have the potential to choose the presidential candidate in future elections.

As Democratic Socialism draws more and more support from younger people, it is a hopeful future that one day we will elect a president with these ideals.

The far-right conservative base is also getting smaller as they get older and die off. As these voices slowly die out, socialist voices will surface and take charge. It’s only a matter of time before more liberal ideals prevail.
