Inslee: Snitch line for shutdown violators stinks

I recently called Governor Inslee’s office to leave a comment on policy but was shocked to receive a five-minute recorded greeting on how to rat on my neighbor or a business I dislike.

The greeting encourages us to call a snitch line for violators of his “stay at home” order.

I don’t know about most people, but encouraging us to report our neighbors for this civil-rights-violating proclamation strikes me as wrong.

I have no problem with social distancing, but I’m not about to report someone who stands too close or goes to work in violation of his order. Nor will I report on a business that is just struggling to survive.

I think this speaks volumes of the character of the person leading our state through this unsettling time. And not in a good way.
