Inslee: Standing tall against premature reopening

I am grateful to Gov. Jay Inslee for all he has done for us. I know this is a very difficult time for all governors. I also know the governor is doing everything possible to safeguard our lives and the lives of our family members.

I am worried about the irresponsible and dangerous armed protests, which appear to be organized and fomented by the far right. Each of us who is staying home and practicing distance and good hygiene when going out should count as a vote against a premature opening of the state.

In addition, many of us are very concerned about the undue burden placed on people of color and those with fewer resources who will be forced to work in unsafe conditions.

I urge the governor to put adequate protections in place for those who work in service industries. This is going to be a long and dangerous process; people need to be wearing masks.
