Wasted time: Reopen and test; that’s only option now

The entire purpose of the shutdown was to slow things down and marshal the forces needed to battle the pandemic. It was never going to stop the virus.

President Trump does not understand this (nor anything else beyond his own self-interest). He never wanted a shutdown and sabotaged it at every corner.

Thus everything we have gone through has been in vain. Functional societies closed down to their advantage and are way ahead. Our toxic and divided one never had a chance.

But under this moral degenerate and mental midget we did nothing to increase our supply chains, accumulate necessary supplies, ramp up our medical system nor above all ramp up our capacity for testing.

Now with the economy crumbling and society coming apart at the seams, there is no choice but to reopen.

Intelligent people can try to do so taking every sensible precaution, while the deniers can embrace their own fate. But moving forward we need one thing: testing, testing, testing.

And there is still no sign that our leaders are moving to provide it.
