Sex ed: New state law makes good sense
Comprehensive, age appropriate and scientifically accurate sex education is long overdue. I am grateful for Gov. Jay Inslee’s courage in signing it into law and look forward to its implementation.
Contrary to what you may have heard, Senate Bill 5395 doesn’t invent new education but ensures it will be shared.

Over the years, I took care of 16-year-old fathers and mothers who weren’t prepared regarding their sexual health.
How is it a good thing for children not to have opportunity to realize their full potential because they weren’t informed?
Sexual health education can prevent unwanted pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections, abuse and assault. How is this anything but good?
We must nurture our children, teach them good values and let science guide their sexual and reproductive health education. Or opt out if you feel like you can educate them better.
