Manuel Ellis: Addiction not his defining quality

I appreciate your article about Manuel Ellis but am troubled by him twice being described as an “addict.”
All people are human beings first, each of us has struggles, but those struggles do not define our essence.
As a person of faith, I believe that each person is created in the likeness of the Divine.
I am not asking you to accept my theology but to choose your words more carefully. Seeing each other first as humans is a path to justice and healing.
