Bad cops: Every city must root them out

Tacoma, Pierce County officials, is your house in order? Do you know what tactics your law enforcement department is using? Do you know your personnel? Is there a Derek Chauvin, or many, in your department?

The price of having bad cops is being revealed now. Death, destruction, millions of dollars in losses, a city of lost faith in its government.

Yet Chauvin is no outlier. He didn’t have to look far to find three Minneapolis Police Department buddies to help out as he killed George Floyd, someone it appears he knew. What a guy.

There should be no doubt in anyone’s mind that there are cops in America who do not value life, especially those of “the other.”

The cold, dispassionate look in Chauvin’s eye as Floyd begged for breath is one that almost assuredly exists in local departments, as well.

Identify your ticking time bombs before hell dawns here. Every city, county and state in America should be doing the same.
