Democrats: Tyranny grows on their watch

“Trump reactions to COVID, George Floyd prove he’s unfit,” (TNT, 6/8).

Columnist Matt Driscoll’s concern of “authoritarianism” by President Trump ignores that the path from freedom and liberty to tyranny and serfdom can take the “left” route just as easily via socialism and totalitarianism.

Democrats have run this state and its major cities for decades (governors since 1985, Tacoma mayors 2002, Seattle mayors 1969 and US senators 2001).

However, it is easier to scapegoat a president in office only three years for Democrat policy failures intended to control every aspect of citizens’ lives, making people more reliant on government and suppressing individual freedom of choice.

Gov. Inslee’s stay-at-home orders clearly suppressed constitutional rights. He feigned concern about the president “putting millions of people in danger of contracting COVID-19” when we were encouraged to protect those rights, and he was hypocritical given the recent mass protests and violence supported by local politicians.

And we haven’t even touched on the Democrats’ Russian collusion/delusion campaign. So yeah, there’s a lot at stake.
