Trump: No concern for general public welfare
We are all familiar with some of the president’s more nefarious peccadilloes – his pathological lying, infidelities with porn stars, that embarrassing impeachment episode and most recently gassing peaceful protesters for a photo op.
But when Trump’s actions, or inactions, result in people dying, we have to act.
It’s been well documented that the Trump Administration’s absurdly slow response to the COVID-19 epidemic killed many Americans. Remember how Trump reassured us it would magically go away?
With the death toll above 108,000, we are now realizing he meant it would go away after we were all dead.
Cautionary practices work. A recent Columbia University study found 36,000 lives could have been saved had social distancing measures been enacted one week earlier.
And had Trump set a good example from the outset by simply wearing a mask, as his experts advised, how many could have been saved? Could still be saved?
Now Trump, in his nearly hysterical efforts to win re-election, is pushing the RNC to host a convention with no distancing or masks.
The facts clearly show our president doesn’t give a damn about our welfare.
