Anthem protest: I shed blood for this flag
Re: “Signs are NFL won’t stand in way of player protests,” (TNT, 6/9).
I would like to understand how kneeling while the national anthem is played makes players feel better, or anyone else.
I am 87 years old, served in the Army in Korea in 1951 and Vietnam in 1967, and spilled my blood in both wars. Not that that makes me any better, but I do love our flag and I hate it when I see it disrespected.
Bad policemen should be rooted out of every police force, but can’t players come up with another way to say that other than showing disrespect for our flag?
Maybe they should just play football.
