Russia bounties: US inaction betrays the troops

The news of intelligence indicating that American soldiers were hunted at the behest of Russian spies is bad enough.

For a veteran like me, whose friends paid the ultimate price in defense of the United States, the implication that Russia actively colluded to execute brothers in arms is unconscionable.

To also find out that President Trump’s administration knew about it and still kowtowed to Putin is reprehensible.

Maybe Trump was unaware of the bounties reportedly placed on US troops (as he claims is true because, despite it being written down, no one actually read the words to him).

But where is America’s response to Russia? Where are the sanctions? Where is there any evidence of Trump’s condemnation of Putin? In what way do American troops know their commander in chief has their backs?

There is no excuse that allows for the current inaction from this administration. Even if initially incompetent, the lack of response now is nothing short of treasonous.
