Pierce County: Tireless Mello is wise election pick

For eight years, I had the privilege of working alongside Ryan Mello on the Tacoma City Council.

Ryan worked tirelessly on issues Tacomans care about, like promoting more housing affordability, standing up to the fossil fuel industry, expanding mental health services, and making transportation corridors like North 21st Street safer for pedestrians and bicyclists.

The man practices what he preaches, and carries years of non-profit and executive-level experience that will be of tremendous benefit to our city, county and region.

Ryan ably represented Tacoma on regional boards to ensure our city got its fair share of transportation dollars. He also has a track record of environmental victories, such as helping protect Snake Lake from development years ago.

In this time of public health emergency, recession and political turmoil, we need steady leadership from principled leaders we can rely on.
