Summer: Let pools open for good of all

Private pools for small apartment communities like mine should open ASAP this summer.

It’s been shown that pools are preferable to much less safe bodies of water (rivers, lakes, etc.) where crowds tend to flock in the heat.

The governor’s office agreed to allow public and private pool openings at 25-percent capacity as of June 10, but they have to be staffed.

Pools are safer than being indoors (like malls, which are open) per the CDC.

Even without gatekeeping, a small apartment community can easily moderate pool usage to keep numbers low. A simple sign posted outside the gate listing the maximum number of residents should suffice.

This will keep people safe both by staying in safe water and by protecting the greater region, helping to rein in coronavirus spread from summer travel.

Opening these pools is the right choice for everyone.
