Junk science: Group’s anti-mask lawsuit is reckless
The so-called “Freedom” Foundation filed a lawsuit this month against the Washington Secretary of Health, arguing against the efficacy and requirement of wearing masks in public.
In an open letter to the governor, they call these protections against the further spread of COVID-19 “overreach” and “junk science.”
Despite their posturing, this organization is not concerned with anyone’s freedom except the super-rich. Best known for their campaign against public sector workers, the foundation goes so far as to steal workers’ private information and then go to their homes to intimidate them about their union membership.
Are we really supposed to trust a network of organizations that peddle racist pseudoscience to tell us what is and isn’t “junk science”? This lawsuit, and the organization behind it, should be thrown out and disregarded.
