Mail voting: Shenanigans by Trump must not stand

It is almost three months until the Nov. 3 general election and President Trump is already using his office to impact it.

He has placed Louis DeJoy, a wealthy longtime supporter, in charge of the United States Postal Service. The new postmaster general has already slowed mail delivery through stopping sorting machines early each day and not allowing overtime or late deliveries.

Postal workers are noting that delivery is slowing down and primary voters in some states are worried their ballots won’t get counted. Since 34 states don’t accept ballots after Election Day, this is frightening.

Also last week, Trump announced that he supports vote by mail in Florida while at the same time suing Nevada to stop its mail-voting system.

If Trump is willing to make these changes right in front of us, I can only imagine what he’s doing behind the scenes.

As John Bolton said: Reelection is the major factor in all our president’s decisions.
