Military: Women should be drafted alongside men
Re: “Federal court: Male-only draft is constitutional,” (TNT, 8/14).
If I were an 18-year-old male, I would refuse to register for the draft until women are required to do the same, and here is why.
1. Women have demanded to occupy combat rolls in all branches of the US military and are now doing so, performing as fighter pilots, crew members on board nuclear subs and aircraft carriers, and in combat on the ground.
2. Both of Washington’s US senators are women.
3. Half of Washington’s US representatives are women.
4. Congress is almost 30% women and increasing every two years.
5. The polls say we will soon have a female vice president.
Why are women not saying “ME TOO” to be a part of this nation’s draft? If we must activate the draft, I guess it will be OK for men to fight while women stay home and govern.
Women need to be treated equally to men, and stand up alongside us to defend this nation.
