Climate change: This solution is ready to try now

Fires burning here and up and down the West Coast. Multiple tropical storms/hurricanes on the East Coast. Weird, devastating winds mowing down crops in Iowa.

All are connected to increasing carbon emissions. We need practical solutions now.

Carbon fee and dividend legislation is already in Congress, HR 763. Models show it’s effective in reducing carbon emissions to meet the Paris Accords.

It would provide much needed, yearly increasing checks in the mail to so many families currently struggling, boosting the economy. We need green job growth, cleaner air and better health. Over 3,500 U.S. economists agree.

Our nation regularly flip-flops in choosing government leaders. Regulations introduced by one administration are stripped by the next.

Carbon fee and dividend enjoys bipartisan support from young and old, already has well developed legislation and will enjoy popular support because of the dividend. It will endure.

It needs the endorsement from all of our representatives, governor, mayors and councils, but most importantly you. We can always add more solutions; this one is ready to go.
