Election: AG Ferguson keeps Trump in check

My first notice of Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson was when he challenged President Trump’s travel ban in 2016, banning US entry for people from seven majority Muslim nations.

He was successful at blocking Trump and became the nation’s star attorney general.

I continued to follow Ferguson and was delighted by the variety and range of lawsuits he authored. He went after Juul, the e-cigarette company attracting usage from US teens. More than half his lawsuits target environmental protections.

Ferguson’s work is important for citizen safety. He sued over predatory lending to college students and advocated for Hanford cleanup and transgender rights.

The Trump administration has been a challenge to the rule of law and the primacy of the Constitution. Ferguson has served as a checkmate to these improprieties.

Recently, he has become involved with lawsuits involving the census and was the first successful litigator in challenging Postal Service changes.

Washington needs to retain Ferguson’s expertise.
