Heroes: Our country is running out of them
In a short time we have lost two American icons who enriched the fabric of our country by the lives they lived.
John Lewis was a man of infinite courage whose life was lived to further equality as a young civil rights demonstrator, an ordained Baptist minister and a member of Congress for 33 years.
On each road he walked, he served with distinction.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg, first generation American, graduated first in her class at Columbia Law School and struggled for years to be treated equally in the legal field.
She opened doors for women and minorities and was a profound example of courage, fighting cancer five times and continuing to serve on our Supreme Court.
Two people who served, and were examples of real courage and honor.
Their loss leaves us with an empty basket of examples for our children to respect and emulate. Our current crop of leadership is weak, obedient and lazy.
May these real heroes live forever in our memory.
