Coronavirus: Schools can learn from pro sports

We have learned through professional sports that fast and reasonably accurate COVID-19 testing is instrumental to containing this virus.

That said, society wants to open schools for daily education while not one word concerning daily fast testing. The saliva test is easy, reasonably accurate, cheap and has results within hours, not 6-8 days.

Schools have shown concern for proper masking, but where is that desire for fast testing?

Airports and schools want to test for fevers, but at least 10% of the population is carrying the virus while asymptomatic. Science has shown 40% of COVID cases infected by this group.

Schools should be proactive and test everyone entering on a daily basis using saliva tests. Quarantine those testing positive until testing negative. Make sure those individuals have family members tested ASAP.

Yes, this is cumbersome but so is a math test or a writing essay.
