COVID relief: None in sight while Senate dawdles

With the change of season last week we are all being reminded to get a flu shot.

We are mourning more than 200,000 victims of COVID-19 while the numbers are still climbing. The number of unemployed people has surpassed the Great Depression. About 1 in 5 children in our country go to bed hungry on a regular basis. Nearly 20% of small businesses are failing.

Yet Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is refusing to allow votes on the many bills passed by House majority members to help the many citizens still suffering through this crisis.

Ignoring the families of the dead and those who are still living with the effects of COVID is a massive failure of human rights.

I call on everyone to contact your senators to tell McConnell to allow them to vote for a relief bill now. Besides the flu shot we need to help people survive this change of season.
