Drugs: Prosecutors, cops must get on same page
Re: “Probe: Sheriff’s drug unit wrote fake reports to protect informant,” (TNT, 10/3).
I appreciate this report by TNT crime reporter Stacia Glenn. It shows the complications that law enforcement officers encounter while doing their dangerous job to stop felony-type drug dealers from poisoning the nation.
Perhaps it is time the Pierce County prosecuting attorney and her staff and the Sheriff’s Department and all local city police forces get a handle on how to conduct their business and responsibilities so they all have the same mindset and lawful intentions.
Many Americans have drug addictions and are struggling to maintain a positive life while cartels in Mexico and their supporters live luxuriously off the poisonous products they sell.
The drug trap grows because many in government leadership are interested in votes. Government should stay out of the drug business and refer misdemeanor offenders to private rehabilitation providers so there is no connection between accepting drug crime and providing help to offenders. The two do not correlate.
All families should be aware who in government protects them. Right now, it’s a gray area.
