Congress: Doglio stands tall on Medicare for All
The pandemic has illuminated the horrors of our profit-driven healthcare system like never before.
Twelve million Americans have lost health insurance since February. Others can’t financially survive the hospital bills they get, thanks to deductibles, premiums, co-pays or just shoddy coverage.
Those who are losing their jobs are disproportionately people of color and those already economically disadvantaged.
Despite this, the race between two Democrats in the 10th Congressional District features only one candidate, Beth Doglio, who views healthcare as a human right, not a privilege.
Medicare for All would fix our unusual arrangement of viewing healthcare as a job perk, doled out by insurance companies whose primary interest is their balance sheet, not our health.
Why does Marilyn Strickland want to keep this failing system on life support? A massive change is needed, and most already support Medicare for All. If not now, when?
