PAY: Try living on $1,200 a month
Re: “$15 hourly wage won’t help some people (letter, 7-26).
This letter is indicative of what’s wrong with people today. Most of us have no idea what is like to live on the current minimum wage.
I went on a rental website and asked for apartments with rent between $400 and $450 a month. The website said I needed to resubmit and start my search at $700 a month.
Maybe if the letter writer were to try and live on $1,200 a month, he would be more sympathetic to Jesse Griggs’ situation (Your Voice, 7-20).
