CLINTON: Don't insult Democratic voters

Columnist Michael Gerson says: “Democrats may be coronating a wounded queen” (TNT, 7-28).

In response to his blatantly sexist and patronizing statement: Democratic voters will vote in the primaries for the Democratic candidate for president. And let go of that tired mantra that Clinton thinks she is owed the nomination. No one has worked harder than she has to get her ideas out despite a hostile press and to earn the respect and support of the American people.

Clinton is a person with a rich history of public service, who is capable, experienced and toughened by a lifetime of paying her dues. She takes nothing for granted. And she is strong, “wounds” and all.

Please do not dismiss her quite yet. And please do not insult Democratic voters and others who may support Clinton. Are of the current Republican front-runner coronating a court jester?

At the end of the day we are all called upon to decide who has the ability to govern well, who we feel safest with in that Oval Office. We will vote for that person. We will not be coronating anybody.
