CHARTER: Burris best for review commission
As a resident of Pierce County, I am grateful to those who have chosen to run for the Charter Review Commission.
I urge District 4 voters to mark their ballot for Elizabeth Burris in Position 1. Her eight years of community involvement with the New Tacoma Neighborhood Council and 30 years in the military have honed her skills as a consensus builder and team player. She looks at what makes sense for the people and future of Pierce County.
Burris will work hard to ensure that the citizens of Pierce County are assured of transparency in government and have access to the referendum process when needed.
The charter is the constitution for Pierce County and the review process is to go over the charter with input from all citizens for possible additions/deletions. Burris will carefully consider the input and impact of all views and work to make sure we have the best charter possible.
