RAINIER: Name change is long overdue

I read with great interest the letters advocating changing the name of Mount Rainier to Mount Tacoma. Right on!

Mount McKinley was named for a martyred president. Mount Rainier was named for an enemy of our foundling nation.

So, can we band together - the city, the county, our state government and federal representatives, as well as the Puyallup Tribe - to do the same with our beloved mountain? It seems like equal justice for two mountains. It’s long overdue.
