For those of us who were concerned about Jon Kitna’s absence from the Lincoln High School football program, the article about the game Saturday (TNT, 9-6) should allay those thoughts.
New head coach Masaki Matsumoto makes it clear to his players that there is more to the game than blow-out totals on the scoreboard. Indeed, he emphasizes things like the proper way to conduct yourself in respect to your team and your opponents.
Lincoln’s new coach obviously wants the young men under his tutelage to learn more important lessons than just how to block and tackle. Kudos to him, and welcome to Tacoma.
