ALCOHOL: 'Thirst Responder' is an unfortunate idea
Re: “’Thirst Responder’ debuts in South Sound” (TNT, 9-12).
Why would anyone think that using an emergency vehicle to promote alcoholic beverages would be a clever idea? I am incensed that one would trivialize and devalue this public vehicle which is well recognized on the road for necessitating other vehicles to yield the right of way, often with dangerously quick reactions.
Furthermore, when I first saw the headline, I immediately thought of our terrible heat and how people may be in dire need for water.
What a stupid and wrongheaded idea. I believe the vehicle should be kept within its known and recognizable emergency duties to the public and not for the idiotically dumb whim of a caterer’s publicity needs. No person nor business should be allowed to devalue this emergency vehicle in such a flippant manner.
