MARRIAGE: Nazi comparison doesn't fly

Re: “Kim Davis follows her conscience” (letter, 9-16).

Comparing Kim Davis’ decision to force her religious beliefs onto those taxpayers who foolishly expected her to do her sworn duty to the Nazi officers at Nuremberg? Really? Honestly?

Okay. Was Davis free to resign her position without danger to herself or her family? Was Davis forced upon threat of death to provide her special skills and abilities (gall does not qualify) regardless of her own beliefs? Was Davis in the middle of a nation fractured by a madman, where privacy was unknown and no one person was allowed to retain identity?

Yes, no and no.

Bottom line: Kim Davis played God. She discovered that the position was already filled, by a being far more qualified than she will ever be.
