ELECTION: Al Abbott for Gig Harbor City Council

I would like to urge all voters to support Al Abbott in his candidacy for Gig Harbor City Council.

We are in a period of rapid change as we transition from a fishing and maritime community to something different. We all love this community with its traditions and history, and as Abbott said recently, more than anything else Gig Harbor is an idea.

The critical issue is how do we keep that idea alive while we evolve. Will change just happen? Will we resist and resent change that is imposed on us? Or will we create a vision that retains and enhances the "idea that is Gig Harbor"? Will that vision bring us the things and services that we increasingly need?

Abbott is uniquely qualified to help create that vision. In his professional like he does it every day for his clients and community organizations. He is creative. He is eloquent. He is thoughtful, having done his homework. He respects the history and traditions and builds ideas on them. He is a good leader.
