GOP: Republicans use fear and propaganda

I stopped by the Washington State Republican Party booth at the state fair to ask about the republican platform. I received a 2012 propaganda sheet comparing Republicans to Democrats. The list was nothing but emotional hype and fear-mongering about Democrats.

I asked the worker her personal reasons for being a Republican. Her angry response was that she is pro-life and she believes in the First and Second Amendments. Another worker approached, and I asked her the same question. She said she is a Republican because she does not want socialism or sharia law in America.

I pressed for specifics of who is advocating for sharia law. The women had nothing but fearful talking points straight out of Fox “news,” and I told them as much.

Several years ago at the same fair booth, I was called a terrorist by a booth worker. In past elections I have received voice messages from the Washington State Republican Party telling me to vote Republican because Democrats are no-values baby killers.

The disturbing pattern is that the Washington State Republican Party, like Fox, employs slander, fear-mongering, propaganda and lying to gin up anger in the people. Shame on them.
