LINDQUIST: PDC decision silences bully's victims
Re: “No anonymity for backers of Lindquist recall” (TNT, 9-25).
The Public Disclosure Commission’s decision to not allow a few very specific groups to donate anonymously to the Recall Mark Lindquist campaign because they fear retribution silences the voice of more people who Lindquist bullies on a day-to-day basis.
We yet again see that if you fear retribution because you work with or for a bully, your voice and your ability to support the removal of that person who is an elected official goes unheard.
We have been told by many who work in these areas that not only are their afraid to sign our petition form, they are also afraid to donate because of their fear of retribution by Lindquist. Donations require very specific data to be collected and reported and thus exposes them to the very person they fear. This is not a fabricated statement; it is simply the truth.
There is no big money or “deep pockets” behind this movement, and that can be fact checked with the PDC. The largest donation contributor happens to be me. Pierce County voters and residents deserve the right to be heard and recall this elected official who has bullied his way through the system.
