For the second time in three months, Puget Sound Energy (PSE) customers lost power because of some wind. While we waited for our power to be restored, I walked around our area and noted that Tacoma Power customers on the next block had power.
This is not the first time this has happened. I have lived here since 1992 and have experienced PSE’s inability to keep the power on. In almost every instance, we lost our power while Tacoma Power customers did not. Having PSE as a power provider is like living in a Third World country.
It is a shame that we have no recourse when it comes to who provides our utilities. I have talked to my neighbors, and we all agree that we would move to Tacoma Power given the opportunity. I urge those high-paid PSE executives to get up off their big fat paychecks and take action to update their antiquated power grid.
