I hope readers are paying attention to our local City Council contest in Tacoma’s District 1.
Anders Ibsen has served us well in this district. He has been consistent in his support of our local issues and accessible in response to any question.
His opponent came to my door some months ago and announced he was running for the council at-large position. He assured me that he was in agreement with all of Ibsen’s positions and would be another voice for reason and progress on the council.
Within a very few days, he revealed he was actually challenging Ibsen for the District 1 seat after having been recruited by a special interest group. This is certainly another situation in our political process where “character counts.”
