ELECTION: Anders Ibsen is a strong council leader
My husband and I have lived in Tacoma since 1999. For years, we experienced no representation on the City Council; our calls went unanswered. With Anders Ibsen, we have realized true representation. When we have a question, Ibsen replies the same day. If he’s not sure of the answer, he promises to find out and then always follows up.
Those backing his opponent include mayors who were part of “Old Tacoma” during the Corpuz/Brame years. I, for one, am happy to see Tacoma moving forward with progressive, dedicated and energetic leaders like Ibsen.
If asking tough questions and balking at the status quo are upsetting to others on the council, I’d argue that many of us feel well represented by that form of discourse.
