MIDEAST: We're not learning lessons of history
It’s been observed that the chaotic situation in the Middle East will get worse before it gets even more worse. Along that line, a 1962 Oscar-winning movie, “Lawrence of Arabia,” revealed the age-old tribal and religious enmities that can be stirred up in that part of the world.
Many political leaders seem to believe intervention from outsiders by sending unlimited troops and/or weaponry into that cauldron will somehow result in peace breaking out. It didn’t happen in T.E. Lawrence’s time, and it probably won’t work now either.
I guess the only thing we’ve learned from history is that we don’t learn from history.
