Refugees: Inslee sends the wrong message

Re: On the front page of The News Tribune (11-17), Gov. Jay Inslee welcomes Syrian refugees. Right next to that is the headline, “Raids spread in France, Belgium,” about European authorities looking for Islamic State militants behind last week’s carnage.

Either Inslee has his head in the sand or he is the most inept governor in the history of Washington. Surely he should know that Islamic militants are embedded in what comes out of Syria. The claim that the U.S. government is going to vet these refugees is laughable. These people will have no documentation, no background and no history.

If there is a chance that Islamic militants and fanatics are among the refugees coming to our state, why put Washingtonians in harm’s way? Does Inslee want another 9/11 or Paris attack in Seattle? Come on, governor, wise up!
