Refugees: What happened to US bravery?
This is to advise the world that America, the “land of the brave,” is on a permanent vacation from living up to its long heritage of courage.
Most of our country is currently hiding out of fear from the recent terrorist attacks. They just managed to come outside after the last scary event but are again running, hiding and exhibiting national hysteria. Their politicians encourage this behavior and request donations to keep them safe.
Facing hard challenges and standing up to adversity used to be a hallmark of this great nation. Once upon a time, our citizens chose to stand up and fight when lunatics and their violence appeared on the horizon.
Now there are endless reasons to turn our backs on the homeless refugees whose lives have been impacted by these violent people. It is considered far too risky to give them help or shelter from all they have endured.
Teaching courage is no longer considered either necessary or fashionable. A piece of metal with bullets is their current substitute for true bravery. They believe that safety is far more important than dignity or honor. Compassion and kindness are also disposable in America today.
Osama bin laden did win. No doubt about it.
