SYRIA: Refugees can remain in Jordan

Ben Carson recently sent out a letter to many people in the United States, following his recent trip to Jordan. He told of his experience with the Syrian refugees there. He indicated that, with world-wide assistance, the Syrian refugees could stay there until they can return to their own country.

I thought how I would feel if Mt. Rainier erupted and damaged our state leaving it unsafe to live here for an extended period. Would I prefer to move to Canada and stay in a refugee community there, or to be shipped to Switzerland or somewhere I did not know the language, have the currency and probably lose track of my family and friends? No, I would rather wait in a neighboring state or country until I could return to my home.

Once the Syrian refugees are moved to various countries all over the world, it is highly unlikely that they will be successfully returned. The expense to us, and the trauma we will cause these families, seems unnecessary and even cruel. It seems more humane and much less expensive to assist Jordan in caring for the refugees there. It also removes the possibility of importing terrorists with innocent people.
