Obama: Legacy includes Syrian mess and more

Tom Thrall's letter was precise and to the point (letters, 11-29).

I would add that the Syrian mess is part of Obama's legacy, including all the deaths and the huge refugee problem. Russia has become bolder since Obama's election, retaking Crimea and invading Ukraine. We are not supporting Ukraine like we should, and Russia has noticed.

Time will tell if the Iran nuclear deal is bad; most Americans already think it is. So far, Iran has refused to sign the deal, but all the sanctions have been lifted and Iran is starting to cause more trouble both in Syria and Iraq.

The death toll and the refugee problem - which is a real problem - continue to grow. But, our president is at a climate change meeting with thousands of world leaders and diplomats, not trying to solve the real immediate problems, but creating a talking point so that they sound like leaders to the liberal left and to the mainstream news media.
