KPLU: There are other public radio options

Has the discussion of the proposed sale of KPLU to KUOW included any information about another NPR/public radio station in the area? I haven't seen it.

I do listen to both KUOW and KPLU, but I also enjoy KVTI or Northwest Public Radio. In my neighborhood, it comes in well at 90.9. This station is a collaboration of Clover Park Technical College and the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University. It includes all the popular NPR news programs, Northwest news reports and most of the popular NPR features. In addition, the station plays classical music with weekend folk music programs.

A merger that means cutting back on local news features would be a mistake. In the meantime, I'll continue to add Northwest Public Radio into my listening mix for a broader look at news that is important to me.
