Trump: Nation needs an extremist president

Re: “Up with extreme ideas to improve America” (Thomas L. Friedman column, 1-7).

It is interesting that liberal pundit Friedman has inadvertently endorsed Donald Trump for president in 2016. This endorsement in spite of the liberal political groups and media continually accusing Trump as being fascist, a bigot, racist and much more.

Friedman wants an extremist president, and Trump is the only such candidate available.

Friedman writes that “our slow growth, inequality and national security challenges require radical solutions.” Friedman fills almost half a page with complicated and academic solutions to solve America’s challenges.

Perhaps the most critical Friedman solutions are controlling immigration to allow only the immigration of productive people into the U.S., support business/entrepreneurs and increase military spending to protect Americans, which would contribute to stabilizing the world.

Friedman goes on to say a bad environment and health behaviors are bankrupting us. Frivolous spending is bankrupting America. America has the most healthy environment in the world, and the normal American has arguably the best health care in the world. The bad health in America is generally related to illegal drug use.

Friedman is correct: America needs an American extremist.
