Emissions: Good points, bad premise

Re: “Liberals’ plans would have little effect” (letter, 1-8).

Kudos to the writer for informing us about various human population percentages on Earth. His point that livestock is a factor in carbon pollution has been stated by those nutty liberal loons as well.

It’s too bad his premise - that humans are the cause of carbon pollution (I assume he means all by ourselves) - is oversimplifying an extremely complex issue and also wrong. Had he referenced a source, such as a scientific study, to back up his claim, we could have an informed discussion.

But that would be using science to support one’s opinion like crazy liberals do. Using Fox News and brilliant GOP politicians’ tilt is a far more economical use of anyone’s time.

If he looked, he’d find multiple peer-reviewed, scientific studies blaming our uses of fossil fuels as the major cause. These studies are considered instructional in how the probable damages of drastic climate change might be mitigated. By whom? Well, the Pentagon, NOAA, the National Wildlife Association and NASA, to name a few.

Of course, all liberals believe that too, so it’s clearly a giant left-wing conspiracy to destroy corporations and hate our freedom.
