Education: Kicking can down the road again

Why are our state lawmakers using the excuse that they need more information before they can vote on fully funding education (TNT, 1-18)?

What did they do with the information from the six work groups and task forces that were convened in the last 12 years? Now they want to convene another task force and hire a consultant to do more studies! What is wrong with this picture?

This being an election year, nothing will get done because they will only be thinking of getting re-elected. And our governor is doing absolutely nothing to put a fire under the lawmakers’ feet.

Does anyone believe they will get this done by the deadline in 2018 with only a year left to do it when they haven’t been able to do it in the last 12 years? I don’t think so.
