Climate: Letter writer fails science test

Re: “Hysteria or shoddy journalism?” (letter, 1-11).

The writer claims that science proves that the Greenland Ice Sheet has only lost about 0.3 percent of its full volume in 100 years. To his discredit he ignores the knowledge of acceleration of heating and ice sheet loss.

Perhaps if he wanted to really offer something of value he would not ignore developing science based on ongoing relevant understanding. The earth’s condition is not static. Neither is human effect on the environment.
