Race: Democrats erect barriers for minorities

U.S. Sen. Patty Murray took the stage at Tacoma’s Martin Luther King Day celebration (TNT, 1-19), and like the patent medicine salesmen of old, offered up the same old snake oil as a panacea for the ills facing minority youth: “Too often young people of color face systematic racially motivated barriers to getting ahead . . .”.

Murray is correct: Young people of color do face barriers to getting ahead. Most significant are the barriers erected by the dependency and identity politics of the modern Democratic Party.
