Bethel: Pool is OK, but forget the frills

My husband’s letter was recently published (TNT, 1-20), and apparently it was misunderstood by some.

Yes, a swimming pool is very important, and neither he nor I have any objection to that. However, a splash pool, lazy river and waterslide are not.

Much as I love those features myself, I agree that they are too expensive to require taxpayers to fund, and they would greatly increase the school district’s liability and insurance rates.

Quite often, when a levy fails the school district re-evaluates and resubmits it with a more reasonable request. I suggest that Bethel School District voters vote no and force the district to do that.
