Lindquist: Prosecutor costs taxpayers again

Comedian Ron White says, “You can’t fix stupid.” Another stupid move by Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist will cost county residents money, diverted services and confidence that fair trials are possible in our county.

His gratuitous and completely unnecessary appearance on a national talk show to discuss an ongoing murder trial leaves me stunned (TNT, 2-23). A sports metaphor would be that he committed an unforced error.

Lindquist’s appearance cannot be called “ill-advised” because that would assume that he is capable of seeking, and willing to accept, advice. Ego prevents him from doing so, and a plain lack of common sense compounds the problem.

When will the local and state bar step up and censure him, as it appears we as citizens have no recourse until the next election?
