UPlace: Taxes for police before recreation

I applaud the attempt of University Place citizens to maintain this city’s recreation programs. A lot of work went into the effort to put this on the April 26 ballot (TNT, 2-5).

However, I question the values of a community that did not raise a voice to continue our level of police coverage.

Personally, if I am going to approve a tax increase, I would prefer the police protection to artificial turf in Cirque Park.
